Welcome
to the Ford Owners, Restorers & Drivers Club of Aust Inc. Website. This Club caters for Anglias and Prefects and other side-valve early small Fords up to 1964. |
Our Club, the Ford Owners, Restorers
and Drivers Club of Australia Inc., generally referred to as "The
F.O.R.D. Club of Australia" or simply FORDCA was founded in 2006 and
caters for small
pre-1964, 4-cylinder Ford vehicles, from the earliest English &
Australian Small Fords through to the 100E series of Anglias, Prefects and Populars, 107E Prefects and
105E/123E/307E Anglias and their
commercial derivatives. The Club also caters for special vehicles,
machinery and equipment historically powered by 4-cylinder, 8 & 10 Hp sidevalve Ford engines as above. All vehicles, machinery
and equipment should comply with State Safety Requirements and relevant acts. Modified
vehicles will be accepted as Club vehicles only if they meet our
Club criteria.
You do not have to own an old car to be a member of
our Club.
The principle aims of our Club are to:
1. Encourage the restoration and use of Early Small
Fords;
2.
Foster
family participation and encourage comradeship by attendance at meetings,
outings and social occasions, with the accent on having fun with our little
Fords.
It is intended to hold meetings and outings in areas
where there are three or more financial members and for this purpose we
encourage the formation of Local Area Groups. At present we have a Melbourne
(Eastern Suburbs) Group based around Boronia, a Central Goldfields Area Group
based in Lockwood South and a Tasmanian Group based in Hobart. All Groups are
free to organize their own club runs via the main Committee.
Our Club is recognized by VicRoads and participates in
the Victorian Club Permit Scheme and allows Victoria-based members with other
vehicles (including non-Ford manufactured) in their collections to obtain a
Club Permit for those vehicles providing that they have a Club appropriate
vehicle on the road or actively under restoration with a plan for its early
completion. These "alternative vehicles" are welcomed on Club runs.
Our Club actively supports both the Association of Motoring Clubs and
the Federation of Veteran, Vintage & Classic Car Clubs.
Our Club is insured for public liability.
Members are kept
informed of all Club activities through email, our Facebook Group and a
bi-monthly newsletter, "F.O.R.D. INK". We encourage members to
receive this in .pdf form by email, as it is less expensive and is
available several days before the printed copies
sent by Australia Post, requires significantly less resources (manpower and time) and is also in full colour (where applicable).
All members are
required to be over 18 years of age. The membership year starts on 1st July and
the Committee has set the annual
subscription for 2024/25 at $30. For those members wishing to receive their
newsletter in hardcopy and by AusPost, there is an
additional charge of $45, to cover the Club costs of printing, stationery and
postage. Pro-rata fees apply after 1st January.
As from the 1st
July 2022, a once off Joining fee of $25
applies to new memberships.
For further information about this friendly and progressive club, please
do not hesitate to contact Bill Ballard, the Membership Secretary, on (03) 9762
9974.
